Location
The cottage is located on the Thackthwaite Road at the base of Lowfell in Loweswater. The river Cocker flows through the fields near the cottage, which is also positioned on the cycling Coast to Coast route.
From the North and South: The easiest access is from the M6 Junction 40 at Penrith onto A66 West, bypass Keswick. Shortly after at Braithwaite, take left sliproad onto B5292 over Whinlatter to Lorton. Turn left to travel South on B5289 to Loweswater. Pass Scale Hill and over bridge. After bridge take next right and then at next junction turn right. Cottage is located in first buildings on left.
From the East: Take A595 to Cockermouth. travel up Main Street and follow signs to Lorton.
Once on B5289 to Loweswater, pass Scale Hill and over bridge. After bridge take next right and then at next junction turn right. Cottage is located in first buildings on left.
